Expanding a Firm’s Reach to Compete for Cultural & Commercial Work
Challenge
A new Brooklyn-based design studio engaged us to help them chase and win cultural and commercial projects, with the ambition of working with forward-thinking institutions and innovative start-ups.
Strategy
Future–Future developed a business development strategy to leverage the firm Principals’ previous experience working with academic and cultural institutions in Europe, as well as positioned them to speak to their strengths of working closely with client teams, successfully collaborating with architecture firms, and their efficient project management and delivery.
Execution
We actively researched potential clients and arranged introductions – supporting them with profile briefings before meetings and tactics to cultivate warm leads.
Our ongoing research into project opportunities and the competitive repositioning led to them being among the ten firms invited to submit a design proposal for a new cultural institute and residency sponsored by the German government in a townhouse in New York.
Results
The firm was shortlisted for the cultural institute, alongside renowned and established firms including Selldorf Architects, 1100 Architect, and David Chipperfield Architects.
