Helping an Engineering Firm Break into Mass Timber

Challenge

An upstart engineering firm in New York asked us to help them win mass timber projects, a structural system they were interested in but had no experience working with on a project.

Strategy

Future–Future developed a communications strategy to position them as experts in mass timber and researched potential markets where such projects were being commissioned.

Execution

We launched a multi-channel communications campaign to establish their interest and expertise in mass timber, including researching and publishing a whitepaper, booking speaking engagements at national and international conferences on the subject, creating social media content that distilled the whitepaper into digestible posts, and direct outreach to architecture firms working with the material.

Results

The campaign led to the firm winning several mass timber projects, including a tower in Cambridge, MA; a pavilion in Providence, RI; and a prototype design for a modular mass timber multi-family residential system.
